I have opened a Second Project to set up archiving and make a read-only. I have had some trouble removing portal access. Although there is no content in the archive project on the portal its still shows the tab. I want to remove the archive from portal completely.

  • I have add view Read-Only workflow
  • add browse project group jira-servicedesk-users
  • removed Service Desk Customer - portal access

These are the steps I have followed to remove the portal access yet it is still visable on the portal. Please Help

I don't have JSD in Cloud (I'm using Data Center), but I assume this answer also applies to Cloud.

In the JSD project admin settings, there should be a section called "Customer Permissions" - choose this option and change the "Who can raise requests?" value to "Customers who are added to the project."

I have that set, and I had when I added people to the project as read only they appeared in the customer section of the service desk. Do they also need to have the agent enabled to so it clears them from the customer view?

Granting a user an agent license does not prevent them from seeing the customer portal. Agents are able to see both the portal and entire project.

Basically, if you have any agents on the read-only project, those users are going to be able to see the customer portal, too. Visibility for everyone else, however, should remain hidden.

Thank you so much,  I should go check to see if other customers and or users not on the project can see the content on the portal. I didn't think of that. Thank you very much for your assistance. This archive project has been a hard one with all the adjustments. I appreciate all your help.
