Initially, I created a project by the name of ICD, and by using its configuration, I created two more projects, i.e., Documentation and partnerships.

The issue arises as I created custom fields in ICD and want those fields to be required in the ICD JSM project. But making them required is affecting the documentation project, as when I try to raise tickets from Slack by choosing to create an issue from Jira cloud; then the custom fields appear as required during raising a ticket which I don't want. Making the field required I ICD will affect the clone project and unable to raise tickets from Slack without filling in the required information. Please suggest.

Hi @Shikha Verma - It sounds like you need a separate field configuration for the documentation project.  You can take these steps:

  1. On your document project navigate to Project Settings >> Summary
  2. Note the name of the Field Configuration Scheme and Field Configuration
  3. Navigate to Jira Settings >> Issues >> Field Configurations
  4. Locate the Field Configuration Scheme captured in step 2
  5. Copy that field configuration to a new field configuration
  6. In the copy, remove the requirements for the desired field(s)
  7. Navigate to Field Configuration Schemes and create a new field configuration scheme
  8. Add the field configuration copy created in step 5 to the new field configuration scheme
  9. Navigate back to your project settings
  10. Click the Field configuration scheme and select Switch Configuration Scheme
  11. Select your new field configuration scheme
