As a Consultant, I recently got this question from one of our clients; They have JSM (Cloud) and use the reports to generate well...reports.
However, they're wondering how the avg. is decided. when no date is set in the JQL option, how does Jira calculate the avg for say in this example; ttfr?
Does Jira use the created, updated or resolved date to sum up the issues? I keep getting a different number when I create a filter based on start and end of month vs. when I use the report and set the view to 'Past year by month'
I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere so I hope I might get some help from here.

Jira calculates the average for a metric like "Time to First Response" (ttfr) by the "created" date of the issues.
