Providing Managers view to their office tickets

Hi Guys,

 

I'm trying to get a way to share the dashboards I've created with the respective office branch managers. But restrict the view of tickets to only the managers for their respective offices.

An easy way would have been to share it on the customer portal, but Jira doesn't allow this.

In order for them to have access I need to give them an agent's license but that gives them full access to all tickets accept the HR tickets, as I have an issue security scheme setup for all HR tickets.

 

Any suggestion are welcomed.

Hello Gary,

How are you? I hope you are having a nice day.

I understand that you would like to allow your managers to access the issue without needing to add them with an Agent license and reconfigure your Permission schemes to restrict the relevant projects. Have I got it right?

There are two options that can help you achieve your goal:

1 - Add the JIRA Core application access to the managers (Collaborator access):

This option would allow your Managers to view and make internal comments to the Issues with a lower cost than a Service Desk Agent license. Also, it would be easier to restrict the relevant projects accesses to the managers since they would be using different application access.

Here would be the steps:

- Install JIRA Core and add your Managers with the Application access

- Restrict the relevant projects by application access, roles our adding new security Levels to your projects

2 - Create customize JIRA Dashboards for each Manager and export them to PDF

This option would give your Managers the view without needing to customize permission schemes or add any licenses to them, however, they would only be able to see the dashboards without performing any kind of interactions.

To achieve this option, you would need to use Better PDF Exporter for Jira (PDF View) plugin.
