Pop up message Or hiding Approve/Decline

Hello everyone,

I have just about finished off building our new portal forms, automation and workflow for some users.

I am wondering two things -

1. Is there a way we can add in a pop up to Jira Portals? ie. When the Line Manager navigates to the form they need to fill out, a pop-up message displays saying 'It is mandatory to complete this form before approving'

or

2. Is there a way to remove the below Approve / Decline buttons on the user portal? The way I have the automation setup is to auto approve once they submit the form, so would like the approve button not to be there.

Thanks for any help or support.

Cheers.

Hi, @Joshua Stokes! 👋

I'd propose the following solution in your case:

  • Remove the approve/decline step - since automation is already handling the approval, there's no need for the manual step and its buttons.
  • Use mandatory fields on the form - configure the request type to include required fields before submission, ensuring that all necessary info is collected before the ticket transitions to the next status. You can even modify the validation message.

  • Add instructional text in the form - use field descriptions or help text to guide the user. For example: “This form must be completed before it can be processed. All fields are mandatory.”

This reduces confusion and eliminates the need for UI-level workarounds. Hope this helps! ✨
