Hi,

I have been using the Jira Service Desk tool for change management, and as the project owner everything has been working fine. However, I have tried to set up another user with the same permissions as me, but they are unable to set up approvals on changes. The issue seems to be specifically when searching for approvers, as they are unable to search for other users.

- They are part of the same permissions group as me (Administrators)

- I have enabled Request Sharing in Project Settings (customers can share requests with "any customer or organization, by searching this project")

- I have assigned requests directly to them, but still getting the same issue.

Screenshots provided of the specific field they are unable to search for other users from.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello @Adam Lloyd

Sorry to see you are facing a problem.

Per the description and screenshots you provided, I believe the other project administrator is not added with the global permission "Browse Users and Groups", as described in the KB below:

Suggestions not working for User Picker field in Jira

That being said, follow the steps below to add the project admin with the correct global permission:

  • Log in the JIRA application as a Site-admin, or ask a Site-admin to do the next steps
  • Go to JIRA settings > System > Global Permissions
  • Add the project admin to any of the groups under the Browse users and groups permission
  • Ask the project admin to log off and log back in before testing, preferably using a different browser in incognito mode to make sure he is not facing a cache issue

Let us know if these steps worked for him.
