We are in the process of setting up our service desk and our requirement is we are setting up one project per customer.
Each project will then have an organisation assigned to it and a number of customers within that organisation.
We would like to have one incoming email address for the entire company so support@ourcompany.com for example.
Now for the tricky part...
If a customer emails in a request we want the email to be assigned to the correct project automagically rather than having a unique email address for them to use on a per project basis. I guess this would happen based on which project that customer is assigned to. Can this be done?
Now if it can be done then great but what would happen if a customers email address is assigned to more than one project, how would that be handled?
Advice/help would be appreciated....
Hi Phil,
I think this issue is an open one for server JSD you can vote up and comment on: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDSERVER-1169
If you're on cloud, the associated issue is here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-1169
There aren't many voters at this point. I wonder if this could be accomplished by an addon, but I haven't used one for this specifically.
Hi Meg,
Thanks for this, quite surprised a feature doesn't exist already but it looks like there are some workarounds/plugins that I can use.
Thanks again :)

yes plugins such as JEMH can do this. Or you can have your IT group set up an email domain forwarder.

Yep saw that one. Also toying with the idea of Rules setup on exchange which should have the same effect although there wouldn't be that tight integration with Jira SD.
