Nonexistent Automation Keeps Running

Jade Tran February 17, 2025

An automation that automatically assigns a certain user to a task when a specific status is chosen keeps running. However, the rule doesn't exist anywhere. Not on the project automations or the global automations. It doesn't even register on the Automation Audit logs. How do I go about deleting it?

@Jade Tran

Welcome to the community.  You need to confirm that the rule is absolutely not there from the system settings and your project in question is not included in other global automation rules.

If the confirmation is YES, then you will need to review the WFs used in the project at the transition's Post Function call to ensure there is no post function call setting the assignee value.

Hope this helps.

Hello @Jade Tran

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

If you can't find the rule, how have determined that it is a rule causing the change?

As @Joseph Chung Yin , the same change could be caused by a post function in the workflow.

There could also be a Webhook defined that is listening for the transition and executes a web request that includes changing the Assignee
