We have dozens of clients and frequently need to go on-site for service calls. We also need to plan efficient delivery routes for multiple service techs to ensure we make the best use of their time.

Yet I don't see any way to add any contact info for a company or person but a name and email address...can that be right?

By default, yes, JSM has a minimal set of fields when you first install it, and expects you (well, your admins) to add other fields that you need to suit how you want to use it.

For an address type data set, I would be tempted to look for one of the apps that provides location based or map fields (Google Maps for Jira is one I've used in the past) - they won't do route planning, but at least you would have maps attached to the client data.
