Hello all,

I am currently testing Insight for our own licence management.

I would like to have the referenced Insight objects displayed more clearly in the service management issue.
Unfortunately, this card layout is anything but clear. A clean tabular form would be nice. Especially when more licences are involved.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find anything on how to further adapt the layout of the fields.

I couldn't find anything in the Marketplace either.

I assume that Insight itself does not offer a solution. Therefore, I already thought about copying all Insight object values into a table, but I am not yet sure how I would do that.

Maybe someone has an idea or has faced a similar challenge before.

Many thanks in advance

Regards

Verena

If you have scriptrunner, you could build a custom web panel that will read the content of the insight field and produce a table.

Otherwise, there is no built-in way to change the way multi-object insight custom fields are displayed on the issue.

Hi @Verena Diehl

welcome to the community!

If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, have a look at the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields - including any Insight object fields - much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. This is how this looks in action for Insight object fields (Inventory is one such field):

You can also use Insight object fields across JXL's many advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.

JXL won't help with how an individual issue (as shown in your screenshot) is displayed, but depending on your exact use case, it may safe you tons of clicks and time.

Since you've tagged your question for Jira Server: As you may have heard, apps sales have ended for Jira Server. Are you planning to migrate to Data Center or Cloud? I'd strongly recommend that. If you need some more time, JXL is perfectly compatible with Jira Server; it's just that we need to generate a license for you. If the above looks interesting, just let me know, and I'll happily start a free trial for you.

Any questions just let me know,

Best,

Hannes
