I have a built a full fledged change management workflow with approval cycle etc. I have incorporated a lot of new screens to be used during each phase of this workflow with custom fields. All this has been done on our Jira Service Management instance on cloud.
However, I now have to somehow move this to our Jira Software (cloud) instance.
Is there an option to migrate this between these 2 Jira instances or i will have to redo them all in the JS instance.
Hi @Vamsi Krishna Panthulu , unfortunately, no. You will need to reproduce this within a new, Jira software project.
Note, there may be an add-on that could assist with this. You may want to check the marketplace. With that said, I suspect that if there is an option it won't be a perfect solution and you will need to come back in and tweak the target project. For example, I note in your post that you have an approval process set up which is unique to JSM.

One of the article talks about exporting the workflow and uploading it to the marketplace and then downloading it or assigning it in your other instance from the market place.
I am not sure to what extent that would work, but when i go to the marketplace i do not see any option with which i can upload the workflow.

It talks about "creating new app" but i do not see any such option, atleast with my current account, not sure if it requires additional subscription etc
any thoughts on that ?

Personally I have never attempted this on Cloud. However, the article you mention is the right source explaining how this is done. Indeed you are creating an 'app'. This always seemed non-intuitive to me as well. Now with all that said I'm unclear how successful that will be in your case. Can't hurt to attempt, but again I suspect that once you do it you will need to tweak the workflow to get it out of work.
