Mapping Manager Attributes from Azure and set custom fields

Hello community.

If we follow this strategy and are able to setup the synch of the attributes from Azure into Jira User profile from manager/boss/peer: 

 

How to sync the manager attribute into Atlassian Home with Azure AD | Platform experiences | Atlassian Support

My question is:

- We can use this attribute to set into a custom field?

Example:

My internal customer raise a ticket in the JSM portal, then this synch fills the custom field manager will be set from this parameter as a user picker, then this manager will approve some request.

Is something that's possible?

Hi, @Victor Barros 

The Manager in the User Profile is used as additional information, but its usage throughout Jira is minimal. I believe you cannot use this on an issue since it is a profile property. 

If you are open to trying a marketplace solution, I recommend Mindpro Sync. I am a product leader at Mindpro, and Sync was designed based on a scenario similar to yours that we have faced in the past.

The app allows you to map multiple attributes from Azure AD (including extension attributes):

Then, it displays the hierarchy inside the issues and automatically sets the manager as the approver, which I believe matches your requirements. Attributes are mapped to read-only custom fields, which you can use in JQLs and automation.

You can also choose to display these attributes or the hierarchy in the Customer Portal.
