Labels field in the More Fields section of the Issue View disappears when populated

Hello - I'm new to JSM and am in the issues view. I assigned a label to the issue in the More Fields section and it shows up in the queue; however, when I go back into the issue, the field is gone? Does anyone know what I need to do to get it back? Any help is appreciated!
