Labels custom field on new issue type screen not working

Hi,

We are experienced issues on labels custom fileds, in new issues view, on JIRA Software projects and JIRA Service Desk.

When we try to set a label, that already exist on this field, the JIRA ask for create a new label.
The sugestions list present by typing some charecters are not from this field but from the default label field (tags).

If we go to older view the custom labels field work properly.

We already try to change schema and screen fields configuration and nothing change this behavior.

The behavior you are facing where new custom fields added with the "Labels" type displays the same value suggestions that the system "Labels" field is a known bug in the new issue view. We have reported it to our developers in the link below:

When adding another custom field with "Labels" type , the value list in the "new issue view" are the same with the system "Labels" field value 

Feel free to vote and watch the bug to increase its priority and also receive notifications about its fix implementation. Indeed, the only workaround available at this moment would be to use the old issue view.

I believe I am experiencing the same. When I start typing a label that I know is already in the system, it does not pre-populate and therefore it seems as if I'm creating a new one. However, when I click into the "newly" created label, it pulls all old and new issues associated with it so I know it's still there in the system, it just isn't showing as an option.
