Knowledge Base & Portal Questions

Jarrod March 4, 2025

Hi Everyone,

I am wanting to implement a knowledge base system that enables me to publish articles that I can link my clients to.

Where it gets a bit more complicated is I would like the implementation to achieve:

1. Manage which categories can be access publicly vs requires a login

2. Limit Articles/categories to specific organisations

What is the best method to achieve this?

Should I do potentially two separate teams, one for full public knowledge base vs one with a bit more restrictions?

Links to articles within the documentation would be a good starting point. I'm still learning and understanding the Jira suite. I was unable to locate the articles that may be able to answer this questions.

Hi @Jarrod

When using a KB you need to start using labels on the pages in the Confluence KB space.

You can limit per Request Type which articles will be shown, based on there labels.

There are no differentiators based on combination of permissions possible.

See documentation on KB's here; set-up-a-knowledge-base-so-customers-can-serve-themselves

Hi Marc,

Thanks for the information. I'll spend a few hours reading through this and see what I can figure out.

Thanks
