Our school district is new to Jira and we have a few questions regarding its use. Right now we have two projects: one for Help Requests and one for our big projects. We have it set up so requests are created when we get an email. But for the projects, we want to be able to create those ourselves. How can we do this?

Also, we use Google for our email server and we don't seem to be getting any email notifications when tickets come in. Where should I be looking?

Thanks,

@Steven Harman,

you can certainly use JSD for your projects but typically Jira SW or Core works best as you can create projects and have a number of folks licensed to work on tasks associated with the projects.

regarding you email notifications the first place to check is the Notifications section to see who receives notifications for various events: create, update, transition, etc.
