We have a client who wants to be able to use the portal to send specific requests to our client support team. The client only wants themselves to be able to see this request type in the portal. I have a few questions for anyone that may have been able to set something like that up.
Is there a way to have a field on a portal form that auto populates the organization that matches the user's email that is submitting the form?
- I know this should be possible because there is the "share with" field on the forms. It recognizes that my email is found under a specific organization and provides it in the drop down. I am looking to add this to the form using smart values.
Thank you for your time.
Hi @John Lord,
Your question seems to consist of two parts;
1) Can you limit access to request types to a specific group of customers
This seems to be covered here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/add-or-remove-restrictions-on-request-types/
2) Can you automatically fill the Organization field
This seems to cover your second question: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/requests-automatically-shared-with-organization-1107626894.html
Let me know if this helps, or else perhaps share an example use case to clarify your ask.
Best regards,
Bob
