Jira Service Desk: The form contains a hidden field that does not have a valid default value configu

Last week, our various service desks stopped working. Each now gives the "...form contains a hidden field...." message. This occurs whether the initiator is a site admin or a regular user.

All fields on a screen are not hidden. Mandatory fields are configured correctly.

The only thing that I can find is that several users were removed from the environment (they were flagged as site admins).  The fact that all of the service desks are now reporting this problem leads me to conclude this is a global setting/issue. I am not sure how to proceed. Any assistance/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is not a global setting, it's done on a request by request basis.

You say it started happening when some people were removed.  That leads me to think that your mandatory fields were user fields and set to default to one of the people who has left.  Now they've left, Jira can't set the value, and hence they fail the mandatory test.

It would be great if you could provide a few screenshots (problem, request types, forms etc). Without any other clue, I would advise you first to check the field configuration to make sure that fields are visible and not hidden (fields that are being used on the forms/request types). Then look inside the Forms of your JSM project and then the request types.
