Jira Service Desk Data Retention

Tedd Herman
September 20, 2018

We are using the Service Desk(Self-hosted server) for some of our internal processes like IT and HR and are exploring using it for our Customer Service people who help out our customers. When we were discussing it they asked about data retention to know if they would be able to go back to a ticket and its attachments from a year or two ago to review what was said/promised to the customer.

I saw that processed emails get removed from the email account after 45 days, but is there any process that automatically purges tickets/attachments? If so, how long is data stored? If not, that would be terrific.

data is not purged by the system on Server. I think on cloud there may be some aspect of this but unsure of the specifics.
