Jira Service Desk Automation (Cloud)

Deleted user August 10, 2018

Hallo i am currently setting up a Service Desk Project,

when i try to set up an Automation Rule i get the Error Message "The selected User has been deleted". And when i try to select a different User to execute the Automation Rules the Drop Down is empty.

I am site and jira admin in this Cloud so the Permission shouldn't be the Problem.

Can anybody tell me how i get this to accept a User?

Thanks

Mike

Hmmm, this is odd. If you are creating a "new" rule it should have you in the field by default. So when you go to create a new rule you see the second screenshot?

Those two Screenshots are both from the Automation Screen, where it prompts me to select another User, which i can't, because the List is empty.

The following Screen is the one i get when i create a new Rule. It gives me the Option to execute the as the User who triggered it. Which is fine, if there was a triggering User. But in some Cases there is none, as with timing events (see the other Screenshot).

@[deleted], when you go to the main Automation page you should see an icon w/ two slide-bars. when you select it you should be able to define the default project  user. I assume that the name there is/was a user that was deleted. Can you confirm and if so simply change the user name? BTW, deleting a user is almost always a bad idea. One way around using a specific user is to simply add a fake 'system user', e.g. jira.system@urcompany.com. Then you can use that user for a number of things in the system.

I just found out, i oversaw that i have to search for a User to be displayed in the Dropdown. Sorry for wasting your time and thanks for the quick help.

no worries @[deleted]. The Community is a place for people to help each other and at times it is simply to clear the fog a bit. ;-)
