Jonathan,

Are you able to install JSD from the Versions & Licenses page in Jira?

Install additional Atlassian products

If you have Jira Core or Jira Software installed, you can install Jira Service Desk as an additional application, and vice versa.

Head to Jira Administration Jira administration icon > Applications Versions & licenses and follow the steps below:

  1. Check which version of Jira Service Desk is compatible with your existing installation at Jira Service Desk version history.
  2. Ensure you have Jira Administrator Global Permission.
  3. Follow the steps at Installing additional applications and version updates.
  4. Read the documentation for the product you've installed, to learn how to get started.

This is from the Installing Jira Service Desk documentation.

Let me know if you have any trouble.

Regards,

Shannon

Thank you for the quick response.

We could not use the "application" method from within jira admin for doing the update as there is an issue as indicated by this message (under "applications" within "Versions & licenses":

Jira Software 8.0.1 and Jira Service Desk 4.0.1 have been removed

Your version displays as unrecognized, because we’ve removed it from Atlassian Marketplace. This is because of a bug affecting Jira Service Desk with the Microsoft SQL Server database. If you’re not affected, you can keep using this version. Learn more

However, you(as in anybody aka us) can run the downloaded atlassian-servicedesk-4.0.1-x64.bin from any location and it then works as expected by finding jiracore.

So, we got it installed and it is running now.

Thanks,

JD

JD,

Thank you for letting me know how you were able to get it installed! Glad it worked out.

Take care, and have a pleasant week.

Shannon
