Jira Automation: execute when a specific issue is cloned

Ashley Honeycutt

Is there a way for Jira Automation to kick in when a specific issue is cloned?

Something like:

  1. When: Issue created
  2. If: issue clones XXX-1234
  3. Then: do some thing

Hello, @Ashley Honeycutt ! I hope you are doing well.

Yes, you can create an automation that is triggered when an issue is created and add a Related work items condition with link type "is cloned by", for example.

You can also use the Branch rule / related work items to be more specific by selecting which related work item you would like to perform actions against.

Let me know if that helps :)
