Hi, can there be a workaround to store the customer name somewhere if not organization then?

The root cause of this problem is that "private request" and population of the name applicable customer, are tied together in your code.

What if we had another custom field though - where the customer name could be set even if the organisation is blank (pvt req) - based on which org the reporter belongs to

I saw that you created a ticket with our support related to this question and they shared the feature requests and a workaround using Scriptrunner. 

I’m sharing these details here in case other community members have the same question:

Feature requests:

• Improve organization field in the create issue screen raised through portal
• As an Agent, I would like to see the organizations a customer belongs to

Workaround:

• Scriptrunner
• auto add organization on creation of ticket
