We receive Service Desk requests from both the portal and email. Is there any way to report on the amount coming from each channel? I don't see channel as a metric to report on yet it displays the channel within each request ticket.

Hi Anthony! You can do this using the request-channel-type field in JQL. As of this answer, the field isn't selectable in a Basic search. You'll need to switch to an Advanced/JQL search to use it.
Requests via email:
request-channel-type = email
Requests via customer portal:
request-channel-type = portal
Requests created in Service Desk projects through the standard Jira interface:
request-channel-type = jira
