We have a user who wants to import CSV files and wanted to find out if there is a specific permission in jira to allow this feature?

Is this feature only available in certain jsm or jira projects/boards?

Hi Raymond,

Yes, you just be a Jira Administrator currently to import CSV files.

Hi @Raymond Correa

@Trudy Claspill is correct, but is depends on what the import is.

The users permissions are also important and the information can only be imported in that project.

Also there are imports that do need to be done, if you want to import parent-child relations, the import needs to be done via the import option in the admin section

So it depends on what needs to be imported.

Hello @Raymond Correa

A non-admin Jira user can import a CSV file to create work items if they have the following permissions:

1. Make Bulk Changes (a Global permission)

2. Create Work Items (a project permission) in the target project

With those permissions a user should find the Import option in the More Actions menu for the Filters > Search Work Items screen.
