Hello,
I am working on implementing a customer portal leveraging JSM. This portal will be used by multiple customers.
Although we plan to have 95% of the fields common for all customers, I anticipate that some will need to add some more information, mostly related to their "internal" organization. I see two manners of doing it naively:
- Using tags that clients would be free to define / use in filters
- Using customer-specific custom fields. This means I would have to set these by organization and requires additional work
Is any of these two options possible in JSM cloud?
Thanks a lot
Hi @sylvain and welcome to the community,
Out of the box, Jira doesn't support what you ask. You can have one portal for all customers, but the service catalog will be the same across all your customers. At least that's the status quo.
For the 1st requirement you will need an app from the marketplace which can customize the columns the customer can see. One that I know of, is this.
For the 2nd requirement, although I haven't tested it, you could see if Forms could do that trick for you. If not then perhaps an app could be a final thought.
For customers with different request types, for now a different SD could be handy. There was this suggestion https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-4486 which don't see it to be implemented in the near future.
Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, I am afraid that this does not cover the need I have. This is surprising it is not covered by default by such market standard from my point of view.
I will keep having a look at the marketplace just in case.
Regards
