Hi,

I have created a dashboard with more than 10 gadgets. I need to add one of them to another dashboard. Is it possible to copy a gadget from one dashboard to another?

Hi,

Jira dashboards don't currently provide a way to directly copy a single gadget from one dashboard to another.

To add the same gadget to a different dashboard, you'll need to:

1. Open the target dashboard.
2. Select Add gadget.
3. Add the same gadget type.
4. Reconfigure it to match the settings from the original dashboard.

If the gadget is based on a saved filter or board, you can reuse the same filter/board when configuring the gadget, which makes recreating it much quicker.

Alternatively, if you want to duplicate all gadgets and layout from an existing dashboard, you can use the Copy dashboard option (if available in your Jira version and permissions).

Hope this helps!

Hi,

Unfortunately, none of the suggestions help me, because
1) the dashboard where I need to copy the gadget already has several gadgets;
2) the gadget is "Filter counts" consists of a large number of "Custom counts"

Hi @Arnis Riškovs

There are no other option available, so these are the only options we can provide.

Hi @Arnis Riškovs

In Jira dashboards, you can’t directly “copy” or move a single gadget from one dashboard to another as a built-in action.

What you can do instead:

  • Manually add the same gadget to the other dashboard and reconfigure it to match (same filter, project, saved search, etc.).
  • If the gadget is based on a saved filter, this is usually quick: add the gadget → select the same saved filter → match any remaining settings (refresh rate, number of results, columns, etc.).
  • If you need the entire dashboard duplicated, Jira admins can often copy/clone a dashboard (availability depends on Jira Cloud vs Data Center and permissions), but that still doesn’t help with copying just one gadget.

Let me know if this helps!

Hi @Arnis Riškovs

@Naadira Sahar N is right here.

But you can also copy a complete dashboard and remove the gadgets you don't need.
