Insight import not including attributes from child objects.

Justin Pulsipher June 29, 2022

Hello!

I am having issues getting our Insight CSV import working properly.

Assets are split across hardware types: Computer, peripheral, infrastructure, etc.

Assets are imported and filtered into their correct object types. However... Attributes specific to those child types are not added created during the import despite the mapping apparently being correct.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Justin,

Sorry to hear about this problem.  From reviewing your description, I believe I found an existing bug for this behavior.  Please see https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-11164 for more details.  There is not a work-around listed for this yet, but I would recommend watching that bug ticket for updates on this issue.

Once a work-around has been found or this bug has been resolved that bug ticket will be updated to reflect this.

This is impacting us too and the issue seems to not be a priority, which is disappointing as it forces us to build a more complicated and brittle solution in the hopes that json import will work.

This isn't working with JSON imports either and the documentation is very limited on structuring the actual file itself.
