Incoming Mail POP/IMAP Mail Server SocketTimeout

When adding a valid email account the following error code comes up after the timeout period

 

  • SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out

 

I have verified the credentials are correct in other test tools, but when plugged into Jira's system mail settings they do not function.

Joseph,

Is there anything in your logs that might give a hint as to why it's timing out? Do you host your own email server or is it with a 3rd party provider, such as Gmail?

Please also confirm your Jira version.
