In Service Desk (Customer Portal), the default value ‘None’ does not display with the use of a single select field type

1. Created a custom field (field type=single select) called ‘Application’. Set the value to 'None'

2. Through Service Desk, Customer Portal it displays the first value and not the ‘None’ value

How can this be fixed?

I had a look into this - turns out there is a bug in how selects are rendered in the Customer Portal. I've raised an issue which you're welcome to vote on and add comments.
