Importing Assets from Insight Discovery to use custom Schema
Hi,
I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the ins and outs of tracking assets with Insight Discovery.
I have setup and ran the Discovery tool on my utility server in which it scans about 30 or so devices. Some of these devices are laptops, PCs and printers. When I configure the import for the schema using the 'Discovery Import' option and upload my .zip results file from the scan. I choose 'Automatically create object types and attributes'.
When I import the results my schema looks like the following:
Why do I have 17 laptops and Pc's under Host and not under an Object type of Computers. Also why does it not register the Cannon printer as a printer but instead identifies it as a connected device?
My next question is I have setup a basic custom schema with how I want my assets to be imported as. See below.
However when I try creating attribute mappings under my import configuration for this schema the 'Data source field' is blank and does not allow me to choose any fields.
Does anyone have a tutorial or documents that can detail how to properly integrate Insight Discovery Tool and a custom Schema to work. I am having trouble trying to find the right documentation or support on the Atlassian support site.
