Hi,
is it possible to create a workflow/automation that implements an Approval Workflow for publishing Articles and only Publish them after a review. We want to do these things without 3rd Party Tools like Comala. Is there anything out-of-the-box at Jira Service Management that supports this?
Many thanks for any tip.
Hi @Tobias D , there's no out-of-the-box solution for approval workflows in Confluence, otherwise Comala wouldn't have an app for that. Creating an approval process in JSM does not change the view/edit restrictions of a page in Confluence in any way.
thanks for the fast answer. Since you can now link your Confluence knowledge base directly with JSM we were wondering if there is a way to use the Jira Workflow functionality for the knowledge base since we've tried Comala before but weren't satisfied with the results since the Cloud Version is very restricted compared to the Server one.
Many thanks for any workaround or tip.

Hello @Tobias D
As you may be aware, the breadth and depth of capabilities available in Comala Document Management server was developed over the last 14 years, development of Comala Document Management cloud only started a couple of years ago and it will take us a few years to bring our cloud app up to a comparable feature set.
Have you looked at Comala Document Management cloud in combination with Comala Publishing? This would allow you to draft your knowledge base articles in one space then publish them when they are approved to the knowledge base space linked to your JSM?
