I want to add a field that auto fills the department from the user's jira account.

Basically I want our agents to know what department a requester is from with out requester filling it out. I have found the "user property" field in custom fields but can't quite get it right. I know I have to edit the default value. 

From what I've read online I think it should look like this: department:user.department

When I add that and add it to a service request then I can no longer load the service request. I just get a white screen. Any help would be appreciated!
