How to hide unused custom fields in Project issue view?

Christopher June 10, 2021

I have over 100 custom fields. They are configured to use the OSD: Jira Service Desk: Request Fulfilment Create Issue Screen and OSD: Jira Service Desk: Request Fulfilment View/Edit Screen.

In the project's Request Types I have a number of request types. Each type use about 20 of the custom fields.

In the project's issue queue, when I view an issue I see all my custom fields even though 80 of them aren't used on that particular request type.

So how do hide custom fields which aren't used as it looks ridiculous and is very hard to use?

@Christopher Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

Custom fields are hidden by default if they are empty.  Can you share a screenshot of the issue so I can better understand what is occuring?

As you can see, the "Components" field is showing.

@Christopher

All the fields that are showing are system fields and will show.  What are the other fields that you were talking about above?
