Hello,

Is there a way to hide email signatures that are showing as a table in JSM?

Example:

 <Name>, <Title>

 <phone icon>
<mobile icon>
<fax icon>
<mail icon>

   <Phone number>
<email address>
 <Customer Service - email address>

 <Company Logo>

<Legal Disclaimer>

Hi, @Wendy Grapentine

JSM actually has a built-in feature for this, tucked away in the admin settings. Go to Settings > Apps > Email requests (under the Jira Service Management section), and you will find a "Hide email signatures in work items and portals" option. There are two detection methods available there.

The first is default detection, which uses HTML patterns to identify signatures automatically. It covers most major email clients like Outlook Web, Gmail, Yahoo, and their Android counterparts. For a lot of signatures, especially the table-based ones from Outlook, this catches them without any extra setup.

If default detection does not pick up a particular signature, you can also set up custom detection rules. This lets you specify text strings or special characters that mark where a signature begins. Common examples are "--", "Kind regards", or any legal disclaimer text your organization uses. JSM will hide everything from that marker downward. You can add multiple rules and prioritize them, so the system tries the top one first and falls back to the rest. When a signature is hidden, it collapses into an expandable section, so agents can still view it if needed.

If you go to Settings > Jira apps and then Email requests under JSM you have settings to strip quotes and hide email signatures. You can also add custom test that it should detect and hide.
