Unable to add resolution code and resolution notes to a ticket in order to move from in progress state to resolved state, Throwing error as unable to add resolution code and notes through python api scripts, but able to add it manually.

Welcome to the community. Can you provide more details (i.e. the exact error message)? Are you doing this via REST APIs process?
Resolution value is typically controlled via your project's issues WF when issues move into the terminal status. Did you check to see if the WF transition has any condition controlling the transition to be executed successfully?
