I want to customers to see a custom test field on the side bar (shown in red in below picture). Is it possible to add ? I dont need it on the form as it not something that customer can fill in while submitting the request. This is something the agent updates in backend and we would like the customer to have visibility to it.
You can present these values using our app Feature Bundle for Jira Service Management. With this app, you can present all system and custom fields, also linked issues or subtasks.
Another option is using Jira automation which copy data from fields and put them as a comment on the portal. Maybe it's not the best user experience but if you have tight budget - there is an option.
Cautionary note on using automation as a workaround and dropping a comment: if you have any SLAs configured for first response time, this effectively kills it.

Hello @swapna baswa
I'm also not sure if you can achieve that with native Jira features. But another plugin worth considering is Extension for Jira Service Management
With this app, you can use Dynamic Forms and show a custom field in Request Details View on the customer portal, without requiring the field to be filled in at the time of submission.
I'm also sending you a link to the Extension for Jira Service Management Support Center , where you can find the app's demo, an interactive tutorial, and other information all in one place.

It's correct that it cannot be added natively to the sidebar. It would be possible to add the field to the request type form so that it is visible in the main panel. You would need to have a create screen that omits the field so that the field doesn't appear on the form in create mode which is what customers are using when creating forms.
It may also be possible to put the field on another form and then have the form locked but externally visible so that the customer could see the value.

This is not possible with native features of Atlassian. but if you are interested to achieve the solution through 3rd party plugins,
You can try out anyone of our below plugins
Just Read Only fields --> Extended JSM Portal - FREE | Atlassian Marketplace
Read only & Editable fields(in portal) --> Extended JSM Portal - PRO | Atlassian Marketplace
