[Problem] How should we track the Jira ticket created for a hot fix release getting merged in service pack release and main release?

  • Should we clone the hot fix Jira ticket and update the fix version for respective main release and service pack release.
  • Should we use multiple fix version on one Jira ticket.

Hello @Kapil Wadhwa , welcome to the community!

I think you can use a single Jira issue and add multiple Fix Versions.
Fix Version represents where the change is delivered, not where it was originally developed.
If the same hotfix is later included in a service pack and main release, just add those versions to the same ticket.
Cloning should be avoided unless the fixes differ per branch, as it breaks traceability and reporting.

Hope this answers your question :)
