How does one add a shortcut to JIRA Service Desk like a shortcut to a Knowledge Base like Confluence?

You can add a shortcut on the side menu here:

where do you want the shortcut to appear? you can add a shortcut in the sidebar of the project.

Where does the link show up? We've added a shortcut, but can't find where it can be accessed in JIRA. Please advise. Thank you,

The shortcut will be in the sidebar exactly where the “add shortcut” is. Maybe we are talking past each other here?
