I recently completed an upgrade of Jira Software from version 7.13.0 to version 8.0.1. The upgrade went smoothly, however, now I cannot install/upgrade my version of Service Desk. When looking at the Versions & licenses screen, I see the message that Jira Service Desk is licensed but not currently installed. I only have the option to Download, not install like in previous Jira Software upgrades.
I have downloaded the .obr file, but now how do I integrate that into my Jira Software application?
Atlassian has just pulled the Jira 8.0.1 release from both the download page and from marketplace as of Thursday morning. This happened because of a rather bad bug that would effect MS SQL environments that also ran Jira Service Desk. Bug reference ticket: JSDSERVER-6253
Because this version of Jira has been removed from marketplace, you can't actually download and install the compatible version of Jira Service Desk (which is 4.0.1) from marketplace. If you had downloaded the 4.0.1 obr for servicedesk you could still manually install it. But it's not something Atlassian would recommend right now. When releases like this get pulled from the distribution, it tends to be because there is a severe bug that Atlassian would rather you not encounter. If this is a test upgrade, I would wait for a 8.0.2 to come up.
If this is a production upgrade, I would recommend following the 2nd workaround from that bug ticket that suggests doing a downgrade OR revert your upgrade attempt to a backup from before the attempt to go back to the 7.13 version.
