Welcome email does not link to Home, rather it goes to Open requests list
assumming you are on cloud you can edit the welcome email and see what is configured for your project.
project > project settings > customer notifications > welcome email
if on server you cannot edit but AFAIK the default url there should take the user to the logon or main screen.
