How do I find work assiged to me?

I am a user and seems I cannot find projects assigned to me or I am not able to assign projects to team members.

Hi Margaret - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Just some clarifications first - you don't assign projects to a user  - you assign issues to a user. So if this comes back empty, then you have no issues currently with your name/user ID in the Assignee field.
