How can I avoid following a Trello card when I add a due date to it?

This seems to happens since the due date popup was updated to include a reminder, just a few days ago: I change a due date or add one and the follow is activated.  Above all, I do not want these reminders (nor the badge icons on iOS), unless I explicitly follow a card or add myself to it. This worked perfectly fine up to now, but the changed behaviour is not what I want.  At all.  I hope this is a bug and not a feature.

Hi @Tom van Baarle unfortunately you are unable to turn off this feature at this time, the Trello team is monitoring the community threads but please email support@trello.com and let them know that you are finding this feature frustrating.
