Hi I am a space admin abut I still cannot edit view, can you please help

You see all my permission, even though my manger have given the edit view permissions I cannot edit them.

Hi @Syed Abbas Jehangir ,

From the screenshort what you have shown, you currently have view-only access to the workflow, which means you cannot directly add an approval step in the workflow itself.
 
If you want to handle manager approval through Automation, one possible approach is:
Create anew Rule
trigger the rule when a Laptop Request is created
check the required conditions, if any
send an approval email or notification to the manager
wait for the manager’s response, or update the issue based on the approval action
then transition the request to the next status such as Approved or Rejected
 
However, for this to work properly, your Jira admin usually needs to make sure:
 
the project has the correct workflow statuses such as Pending Approval, Approved, and Rejected
the automation rule has permission to transition the issue
the manager field or approver field is available on the request
 
So in your case, since you only have workflow view permission, you will most likely need help from a Jira project admin or Jira admin to either:
 
update the workflow and add a proper approval step, or
configure an automation rule that routes the request to the manager for approval.

I am trying to put the automation of the managers approval, when someone ask for laptop, his or her manager should approve it first than the ticket and email generated for operation team to procure the laptop

Okay, so you are trying to edit the Workflow as I understand it. How are you getting to the workflow? And can you share a screenshot?

That is a Request Type, not a Workflow. What exactly are you trying to do?

Next, that means you need to edit the workflow to add the approval there.

Welcome to the Community!!
It is possible that having Space Admin access alone is not sufficient. It may also depend on the project permission scheme or ownership of the view. Please check if you are the owner of the view and if the project role has edit permission. If everything is correctly configured.

Hi @Syed Abbas Jehangir ,

Could you please confirm where exactly you are trying to add the manager’s approval?
 
From your screenshot, it looks like you are able to access the form edit option. However, to add a manager approval step for the laptop request, this needs to be configured in the workflow, not only in the form.
check the workflow linked to the Laptop Request request type. In the workflow editor, open the relevant transition or status step where the approval should happen, and then enable or configure the approval step there.
Alternatively, this can also be handled through automation, depending on how your service project is designed.
