I'm working on creating some new forms for our support desk so customers can give us more information when raising a ticket.
I would like to map a regular Long Text field (or something similar) to the Comment box on the JIRA ticket when it's created, rather than having to create some custom fields and map it to them instead.
So if I add a Long Text box to the form for something similar to "What steps have you taken to resolve this issue?" I'd like the customer's answer to be copied to a comment on the ticket when it's created. Is this possible?

Yes, what you think is possible.
What you will need to do in this case is associate a Jira field with this form field, and then when the issue is created, you will have it comment on this Jira field that you referenced in the form just using an automation rule
