We have recently set up Jira Service Desk (server) and have added all our organisation users via Azure AD sync and market place app Resolution SAML SSO. This is all working perfectly.
The question I have is what is the best way to give external customers access to the Jira Service Desk project?
We have made our Jira Service Desk project available externally so I am just after the best approach for setting up the external customers, I did happen to see an option for an external organisation but i can't seem to find that now.
Thanks
Andrew
Hi!
Great to hear you are using our App.
You have multiple ways to work with external customers - a relatively common one, I see from our customers who use Azure is to use Azure B2B aka Azure Guest User functionality. Once these guest Users are in Azure, then you can synchronize them into Jira with the normal User Sync functionality.
The other, relatively classic solution is to just add them as local Users in Jira & let them login with Username & Password.
Let me know which one interests you further and I can provide you more details.
(In case you want to share something that is not good for a public forum, then feel free to raise a support request: https://resolution.de/go/support)
Cheers,
Chris
P.S. Full disclosure, I work for resolution, a marketplace vendor.
HI Chirs,
Thanks very much for your response and my apologies for the late reply. I didnt think about using Azure which is a better option as we will be extending access to our Jira suite externally.
Kind regards
Andrew

Hi Chirs,
I just had another thought, are we able to configure Resolution to sync an Azure security group which is assigned to internal users and a additional group which can be used for external users?
Kind regards
Andrew
