This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Managing the email channel

Our exchange server doesn't support IMAP or POP3.  Is there a MAPI connector?

Nope, because the licencing costs would be astronomical.

By far your best option is to enable IMAPS on your Exchange server.  The other option I've seen is to bypass it - use a client that is MAPI capable off-the shelf and script a send and/or receive routine to talk to a mail server that does have support for proper email protocols and then hook JIRA up to that instead.
