Since several days we do not receive issues via IMAP e-mail requests. While troubleshooting this today, I updated several apps and next thing an error notification is shown. It says: Error. something went wrong. Contact administrator

I am administrator but I can not find an error. Please help.

Jakob,

You will need to look at the Jira logs (atlassian-jira.log) and the troubleshooting and support tools.

The troubleshooting and support tools will scan you logs an identify common issues and provide links to solutions. (Admin > System > Troubleshooting and Support Tools)

You will still want to confirm in the logs the specific time and issue.

Log file location
The logs are written to the log subdirectory of your Jira application home directory (or elsewhere if you have configured a different location). You can view the location of the atlassian-jira.log in the 'File Paths' section of the system information page.
