Do we have a solution or a workaround for Jira Automation to append custom fields to Request Partici

Hi all,

I am involved in this problem once again and I would like to know if there is a solution or workaround to help me to append people to existing request participants using an automation.

Thank you,

Jader

Two ways:

1. If copying from a field, ensure this checkbox is selected:

2. If setting the field, use the smart value of the request participants field plus a smart value for the new request participants you want to add: Screenshot 2026-04-23 at 5.02.22 PM.png

This is documented here:

Hope this helps!

Dear @Andrea Robbins in my first test this works.

I will follow the log file to check from now on.

I have used this approach:

Dear  @Andrea Robbins  ,

there is an issue regarding to this solution. Take a look at:

image.png

This mean:

The item was edited, but some of the specified fields are not available. Ignored fields: requestParticipants

The requestParticipants is on the Edit and Create screen.

And so I do not have the expected result.

Do you know what could be wrong?

Thank you.

I am assuming it is on the layout as well? I would reach out to Atlassian support. It's possible there was an incident at the time it ran maybe.
