Hey @Daniel Eads I followed your instructions [Atlassian staff note: this post moved from the linked question to its own thread] step by step.
Now I've reached this result:
- I have the custom subdomain with a redirection to the Server (with the IP Adress)
- In the Server Base URL I have this subdomain, enhanced by the port.
Now the redirection works great, but in the browser address field is than the IP Adress displayed, not the custom domain. How can I achieve to see the custom domain here?
Best,
Hannes
Hey Hannes,
Would you be able to share how your subdomain redirection is set up - for example did you create an A record in your DNS pointing at the IP address of the server, a CNAME pointing at the hostname of the server, or something else?
I'd also be interested to know if you hover over a link (for example, the logo in the top left corner) what address you see in the browser's link preview (this would show up at the bottom-left of your browser window) - example:
in this screenshot you can see I've tested the actual base URL for jira.atlassian.com
Knowing what you see here will help determine what Jira is writing links for, vs potentially what the server is responding on.
If you see:
Cheers,
